How discouraging!!

I went to the Dr. again yesterday and I am still dilated to a 1 and not effaced at all!!! Can you believe that! How depressing! He says he will still induce me on Sunday night but I will probably be in labor for a bit longer than if I waited another week. Hmmmm let's think about this... a few more hours of labor or another whole week of being prego... not a tough decision. Bring on the epidural! He also did an ultrasound and measured the baby and guesstamated (is that a word) that the baby weighs about 8 lb 13 oz. I'm guessing that he will be about 9 lbs 5 oz. when he is born. Anyone else wanna take a guess at his birth weight?

Dr. appt.

Went to the doctor today and I am dilated to a 1!!!! It's not much but its a start. I have to be dilated to at least a 2 and at least 70% effaced before he will induce me. so I have two weeks to get to that point cuz my induction is scheduled for two weeks from today. Shouldn't be too hard eh?? Keep your fingers crossed.

Masses and masses of squash!!

I have so much summer squash in my garden and we were getting a little sick of eating steamed squash every night. I found this recipe on the internet and thought I would give it a try. I have made it twice now and everyone who has tasted it really liked it. I have had a few requests for the recipe so here it is...

Summer Squash Casserole

2 lbs summer squash (the yellow crooked neck kind)
1 med. onion (chopped)
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 cup butter (softend)
1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
1 egg
1 sleeve ritz crackers (crushed)

-Cut squash into small peices, steam squash and onions together until tender. In seperate bowl add salt, pepper, butter, cheese and egg. Mix well. Add squash and onions. Pour into casserole dish. Crush crackers and put on top of casserole, dot with butter. Bake at 350 until top is brown-about 45 min.

Not a whole lot going on

So I went to the doctor today and nothing is really happaning yet. He said I am starting to dilate but that I am not even at a one yet. Bummer! He scheduled my induction for Oct. 6th. but that seems so far away. I really, really would like to have him about 2 weeks early. I talked to the doc. about having my tubes tied and he suggested an IUD instead, said I only have to get those replaced once every 5 years and that women seem to really like them, especially the fact that they don't have a period. I don't know much about IUD's do any of you????
