Slacker... Big Time

I know, I am a huge slacker. It's been over a month since I last posted... I can't believe that. It is soo hard to get anything done nowadays. I forgot how much time babies take up. Zander is doing awesome, he is growing like a weed. He is two and one half months old and weighs almost 15 lbs already. He is the cutest little chunk. He is such a smiley happy little guy, and the best news of all....... HE SLEEPS THROUGH THE NIGHT! HALLELUJAH!!! We put him to bed at about ten and he sleeps until around seven. It has been heaven!! Baylie and Kylie are loving Christmas break cuz they get to stay home and hang out with their brother all day. I hope all of you had a great Christmas! Ours was good except for the fact that the weather kept us at home. We usually go to my mom's house for the day, but we were afraid to drive through the canyon with it snowing so much. We figured better to be safe than sorry. So we had a quiet Christmas at home. Marks parents came over for dinner and hung out with us for a few hours and that was fun. I am blessed with the most amazing in-laws ever. They are always there when we need anything and we love to be around them. We are going to my mom's tomorrow for a belated Christmas. Hopefully the weather will cooperate! I will try and post some recent pictures soon.

The wait is over

After 9 months of waiting, 16 hours of labor, 1 hour of pushing and finally an emergency C-section, our sweet little Zander Allen is here!! He is so adorable and such a sweet little guy. I haven't quite got him trained to sleep through the night, but i'm sure it will happan soon ( yes, I'm in denial). I really can't complain, he has such a sweet disposition, the only time he cries is when we change his diaper or take off his clothes... he does not like to be naked. He has a really good appetite and thinks I am his own personal cow. I swear he wants to eat every hour on the hour. He lost 6 oz. in the hospital and has put that back on plus another 4 oz. so now he weighs 9 lbs 9 oz, what a little piggy. We sure love him!

Welcome Zander!

Hey all! This is Jealin reporting on Stacie's behalf. For those of you that don't know, Stacie had an adorable little boy on October 6. Zander was born at 6:23 pm. He weighed in at a whopping 9lbs 5oz and was 21 inches long! Mom and baby are doing fine, despite an emergency C-Section. The girls are so happy to have a little brother and of course Mark is in HOG HEAVEN!!! Here's a pic of the cute little guy:

Just kidding! I do have to say though, he looks just like Mark! Here's the real Zander in all his chubby, adorable glory!

It's here!!

I'm going in tonight to be induced! I'm pretty nervous but excited at the same time. Wish me luck!!!

How discouraging!!

I went to the Dr. again yesterday and I am still dilated to a 1 and not effaced at all!!! Can you believe that! How depressing! He says he will still induce me on Sunday night but I will probably be in labor for a bit longer than if I waited another week. Hmmmm let's think about this... a few more hours of labor or another whole week of being prego... not a tough decision. Bring on the epidural! He also did an ultrasound and measured the baby and guesstamated (is that a word) that the baby weighs about 8 lb 13 oz. I'm guessing that he will be about 9 lbs 5 oz. when he is born. Anyone else wanna take a guess at his birth weight?

Dr. appt.

Went to the doctor today and I am dilated to a 1!!!! It's not much but its a start. I have to be dilated to at least a 2 and at least 70% effaced before he will induce me. so I have two weeks to get to that point cuz my induction is scheduled for two weeks from today. Shouldn't be too hard eh?? Keep your fingers crossed.

Masses and masses of squash!!

I have so much summer squash in my garden and we were getting a little sick of eating steamed squash every night. I found this recipe on the internet and thought I would give it a try. I have made it twice now and everyone who has tasted it really liked it. I have had a few requests for the recipe so here it is...

Summer Squash Casserole

2 lbs summer squash (the yellow crooked neck kind)
1 med. onion (chopped)
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 cup butter (softend)
1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
1 egg
1 sleeve ritz crackers (crushed)

-Cut squash into small peices, steam squash and onions together until tender. In seperate bowl add salt, pepper, butter, cheese and egg. Mix well. Add squash and onions. Pour into casserole dish. Crush crackers and put on top of casserole, dot with butter. Bake at 350 until top is brown-about 45 min.

Not a whole lot going on

So I went to the doctor today and nothing is really happaning yet. He said I am starting to dilate but that I am not even at a one yet. Bummer! He scheduled my induction for Oct. 6th. but that seems so far away. I really, really would like to have him about 2 weeks early. I talked to the doc. about having my tubes tied and he suggested an IUD instead, said I only have to get those replaced once every 5 years and that women seem to really like them, especially the fact that they don't have a period. I don't know much about IUD's do any of you????

Time drags on!

Well I am down to having 6 weeks left. Actually I guess I only have 5 since my DR. is going to induce me a week early. But dang, life seems to be at a stand still cuz it seems like I have been seven and a half months pregnant forever. If there is any advice that I could give my young friends out there its.... Have your babies when your young cuz this being old and pregnant thing sucks. I am way more tired and uncomfortable than I was when I had my other babies, 9 and 13 years ago. Thank goodness the baby seems to be doing better than me. We had another big ultrasound 3 weeks ago and he looks great! I can't believe the technology that they have now. I could see his sweet little face so clearly... he definitely looks like Mark! And he has Mark's size. At 30 weeks he was already weighing in at 5 lbs. Gaining a half lb a week will put him at 10 lbs. YIKES. This would be why the DR. is inducing me a week early, I begged for 2 weeks early but I guess the hospitals are super stingy now a days and will not let the Dr. induce more than a week early unless there is some kind of medical emergency. HELLO, I consider being ripped in half a medical emergency! So im gonna give this big, little guy another 3-4 weeks and than I am going to go walking, bike riding, jumping on the tramp, whatever I gotta do to induce labor myself. Anyone have any suggestions? (Not castor oil).

our sweet little boy!

One of the first pictures of our baby boy. His little hand is covering his ear.... la, la, i'm not listening to you :)

Baby Bedding

Finally, after searching for months, I found some bedding for the baby's room that I really like! At first I wanted something a little more contemporary in maybe browns, greens and blues but than I saw this at walmart.com and knew that Mark would love it. So I put my own preferences aside and bought it. The set comes with a quilt, crib sheet, crib skirt, diaper holder, window valance, bumper pad, mobile and 3 wall hangings. All for $99.00, not too bad! Tell me what you think of them.

ST.George trip

On June 8th the girls and I drove down to St. George to see Jeremy, Jealin and Beck. We stayed for a whole week! It was way fun and relaxing. We went swimming almost every day (not fun shoving myself into a swimsuit) but it felt so nice to float around and feel weightless for a few hours. We also went out to eat, alot (my favorite part). My favorite was the pizza factory, I love their fettuccine alfredo.....sooooo good! We even got to go to the new IN and OUT. I was so excited! I used to love to eat there when we lived in California. But I have to say I was not too impressed with this one, apparently they are doing something different with their fries and they were skinny little dry things. Nothing at all like I remember. The burger was decent though. But we had a blast and the girls had a great time following Beck around...he is soooooooo dang cute. We wish Jer and Jealin would move back cuz we sure miss them!

first post on my own

Well, here goes... my first attempt to blog all by myself. Big thanx to Jealin for helping me set up everything!!! But now I am back home and on my own. So here is an update on my little family. Mark was working as a superintendent for Sierra Homes Construction. But he could no longer tolerate his boss's (jerk of the world) lies and empty promises. Those of you who know his old boss know what I am talking about. Can't say enough about what a jerk he was and how thankful we are to be rid of him!!!! Mark is now working with our neighbor Paul (again doing construction) and he couldn't be happier. I got bored just staying at home all day while my kids were in school so I got a job at Old Navy. (Love the discount!!!!) I only work about 6-10 hours a week. It's perfect I love it! It gets me out of the house a few hours a week, I get a great discount on all the clothes and make a little money too. What more could I ask for. Baylie our oldest daughter is 13! Can you believe it?? I swear I'm not old enough to have a 13 year old. She will be in 8th grade when school starts up again. She has become the favorite babysitter in the neighborhood and spends lots of time doing that. She also makes a ton of money doing it... I don't remember making that kind of money when I was a teenager (which was just a few years ago :) ). Kylie is 9... whew time flies. She will be in 4th grade and loves school. She's got quite the personality and likes to try and make us laugh. And now some exciting news..... I'm pregnant!!!! after nine years Mark and I decided someone was missing. Our little BOY is due October 9th. Mark is so excited to get a little boy he can hardly stand it. He is still having a hard time believing that it is a boy, he is worried that a certain part of the baby's anatomy will fall off sometime in the next 3 months and we will have a girl instead. Silly Mark! Well that's all for now! I'll try to keep my posts current even though I still am not quite sure how to do all this technical blogging stuff.
